Title: Improve performance of assembling split files or add option to disable
Post by: driver8 on September 12, 2019, 06:21:25 am
When you download a file split into parts (.001, .002, etc) with an accompanying par2 set, Alt.Binz attempts to scan and re-assemble the parts, but it does it very slowly. Literally 100 times more slowly than QuickPar. You cannot even delete the par sets from Alt.Binz after it has begun checking them. The only options are to close Alt.Binz entirely, leaving you with partially assembled files and maybe missing parts, or to wait hours for Alt.Binz to do the assembly.

If the performance can't be improved, please add a preference to disable re-assembly of split files like this, or at least the ability to disable par checking on a per-collection basis.

Thanks!

for now, while AltBinz is repairing it is possilbe to right click on the par2 files in the par2 tab & choose to "Stop PAR2 repairing process"

It's not repairing. While assembling parts, the entire par2 tab is unresponsive.
