Auto naming dialog on import
« on: July 15, 2008, 08:05:21 pm »
Although I can't find any previous related issues I find it hard to believe this was never asked before.
I found this message that kinda explains what I'd like.

So: When you import an NZB (either by using the import button or just by double-clicking a NZB-file), AltBinz automaticly pops-up a dialog box which lets you enter a name for the folder to download to. Ofcourse some people will hate this, and therefor it should by optional to enable it.

I'm aware of the feature that AltBinz creates a subfolder name based on the article instead of the NZB but that's not what I'd like.

This is just about the only feature I'm still missing in this wonderful peace of software!

Ah...right! I had that enabled but never saw it. Shame...shame...

But that's because I never use the built-in search methods. I usually work via indexing programs who link the the NZB which I then download/open. Isn't it possible to make that same functionality but then for every method NZB-importing?

Did you try unchecking it and then import/open NZB?

Just tried it, and it didn't have any effect. Downloaded an NZB from a website (IE/Firefox) and double clicked on it (NZB files are assigned to Altbinz). There's no naming dialog popping up.

Now I'm really confused. You want same dialog for import/dbl click with option to disable it?

he wants the same pop-up window that (the one that allows u to enter collection name and dl/unrar dir) appears when nzb's are imported by the build in search engines when doubleclicking previously downloaded nzb's as an option.

I thought I was clear enough on this. But I think david explains it ok.

I'd like a renaming dialog (exactly the same as already there for the built-in search engines) for other ways of importing. Like via the import button or just by double clicking a NZB file from the Windows Explorer. Hope I'm clear enough now.  ;)
