Title: Multiple Location Downloading
Post by: Marsupalami on September 22, 2011, 04:11:04 pm
Hi All,

I have an idea and was wondering if it was possible to implement.  Here goes....

I have alt binz installed at work and at home and would like my work alt binz and my home alt binz to sync up, allowing me to have a list of files that i can specify my work connection to download and to specify my home to download.  Basically have an online db per user with their nzb's imported and a little check box specifying your location, perhaps can be done when installing the client get it to identify itself via forum name log in and PC name/identity, then a row of check boxes from all PC locations next to the series in the list, then if the series is selected for PC location 1 it will download from only that location etc...

What you think ?  Makes sense ?

Where would this online DB live?

Far better IMHO to RD into your home PC and add NZBs to the autoimport folder.

What about using Dropbox and having an import folder for work / home accounts. That way you could save a NZB or ZIP into the correct folder that would then be imported into Alt.Binz and downloaded.

This is a similar approach I take at home using a NAS share so I can download immediately on main PC or scheduled (overnight) on media server.
