Ability to correct outdated search tabs
« on: March 20, 2009, 04:02:26 am »
It seems that NZBIndex, beta binaries, and a few other search tabs seem to have become ineffective, due to the websites updating. My suggestion is, allow is to edit the address it queries ourselves, so we do not need to wait for an update for this to become fixed. Or allow us to create our own search tabs/plugins for this amazing software.

Regards

Stee

(ps if you can already make your own plugins please point me in the direction of any documentation etc as I have been unable to find any. thanks)

EDIT: missing text  due to knocking touchpad

If you search the forum for other discussions about this, you'll see that having custom search tabs is not very realistic.  The search results are scraped with regexes that are unique to each site, among other things, and there isn't a practical way for users to do all of this - without a significant re-write of the code, I would imagine.

To answer your other question: there is no plugin architecture for Alt.Binz.

Edit: Only NZBIndex isn't working in 0.28.5, beta.binaries.nl site is down.  All other search engines are AOK, AFAIK.
