Auto download optimise...
« on: November 17, 2007, 10:54:37 am »
My news provider has lots of servers, with lots of ports.

It would be nice if I set up a download and if any of the servers began to lag it would open a new thread on a secondary server or another port automatically. You can do this currently by opening lots of threads but this is not very efficient.

I don't see how program would now if it's server lagging or you're downloading something else also.
Why not try with few threads on every port? What speed you have and what speed do you get via a single thread?

The only thing I think could be implemented and comes somewhere near this is that Alt.Binz would switch servers in case of a connection timeout. Still, I don't think it's worth the trouble for Rdl.

Dammit. SMF shortcuts aren't working in Firefox :P
