Recheck pars option
« on: May 25, 2008, 11:21:59 pm »
I guess this is a "bug" and I'm adding a request to help fix it.

Quite often when I'm downloading something I'll use the nzbplay feature to check the quality of what I'm downloading and then stop playback to watch the whole thing later. This works great, but then par2 checking stops for the files that are downloaded while using nzbplay. Once all the files are downloaded the files remain unchecked and so Alt.Binz doesn't start to unrar.

Either.. Alt.Binz should remember to go back and check those files that were downloaded.. or if there was a right click "recheck par set" in the par tab that would work too.

I've tried deleting the par set from the par tab and re-imported it, but then it still won't unrar unless i also right click to tell it to unrar again. This just seems like too many steps when a simple "recheck par set" would do it.

Anyone else come across this?

It's quirky, to be sure.  But this works:

1. Add NZB to queue.
2. Toggle Play NZB ON.
3. Connect & start download, wait for .rar to dl, watch preview, close player.
4. Toggle Play NZB OFF.
5. The small PAR2 that will have been re-sorted lower in the queue will either start checking later or you can move it up the queue, and everything should work as normal from that point.

The problem comes if you toggle Play NZB on/off after the small PAR2 has been loaded.  Checking is interrupted and doesn't resume properly (it skips RARs that it doesn't see later).  However, right-click > Unrar seems to work if the file doesn't need repairing.

A solution would be for the PAR2 thread to re-check all RARs after it deletes the preview avi when Play NZB is toggled off.

Yes, I found out that right click - "unrar" still works, just have to take the chance all the files are complete.

Your solution would be ideal, and I'm not sure how difficult it would be to implement. In the meantime it would seem a right click - "recheck par set" might be easier? But then again... I'm not a programmer  ;D.
