Title: Silly idea had to come out
Post by: dacaid on November 26, 2010, 11:00:20 am

As i'm concerned about the loss of newzleech, i was wondering... what would become my favorite NZB prog if binsearch and others fall down too...
Why those fall down? i believe they might cost a lot of money because of the bandwich used, so many visitors...and nzb downloads.

And what if there was a alt.binz.search? Only available through alt.binz programm for donation users.
I mean, we need to authenticate to a server, what if that server index some/many/all groups ?

I called the topic silly idea, because i have no clue of the financial or technical ressources to set that up, and i'm quite sure it's beyond what i could imagine.

But sometimes, if i just put a seed in the ground, who knows what could come out? ;)

Like newsleecher supersearch. :)
Great idea. If we could give some input this will make a great search engine. And a dedicated search engine means perfect integration in the client.
Combine the bests of all search engines. Small problem...different opinions, different solutions.

What about the legal consequences? Anyone with the knowledge to create one?

This has been discussed quite a bit before.  The resources required are indeed significant. Note that there are other clients beside Newsleecher that provide this with an additional monthly fee: Newsbin Pro, Mimo (locked to Giganews), Bintube, etc.
