First of all, I absoultely love Alt.Binz.
My small suggestions to improve Alt.Binz are:
1) Provide options setting for people who like me, would like to merge the Download Queue tab with the Par2 tab
2) Add option to play a sound on completion of unrar (this is in addition to the options to play a sound on completion of a download)
3) Add option to choose file types to delete on successful completion - e.g. *.nfo *.jpg *.srr *.srt
Hope this all makes sense 8)

i disagree with no 1, i think the download queue and par2 are best kept seperate... if you were to chuck them all into the same tab it could get overwhelming at times with people who have a large queue (like me :D)
as for no 3 you can run a script on completion to delete the crap you dont want

thanks for your reply
re: #1, for each download you could have a column that shows the repair/unrar status (grabit does it all in one window - i used to use grabit until i discovered alt.binz). it does not have to be compulsory. i think some people will like it and some won't. hence it should be an option setting tick box. for me it's logical to watch the a download (including repair and unrar) in one window only. just a thought
re: #2, great! i'm happy to create a script. that would give me lots of options to 'tidy up' automatically, but i have to confess i'm lost as to how to do it. i thought i'd looked through all the option settings. how do i tell alt.binz to always run a certain script file for every download?
thanks!

u actualy don't need to write a script there is already one u can use and adapt to your needs:
https://www.altbinz.net/forum/index.php?topic=1244.msg14262#msg14262
If u add "$u" after "$d" you can also use %2 to delete certain types of files from the unrar dir instead of the download dir
the standard execute comand is located in Settings NZB #2, but u can also define individual scripts in the rss filters or change it in the queue via ctrl+k for a single collection

Doh! that's where it is. Plus, you've given me sample scripts!
Excellent! Thanks!!!

Not sure what the thread title has to do with the requests, but in any case these things are much easier to track if you post them as separate requests.
For my 2c, on #1: remember that a collection can contain more than one par2 set and different archives.
On #3: yes, there are scripts, but also other open requests about this. Add your +1 to those threads.

4) A great improvement would be tooltips on mouseover for the toolbar buttons, I find myself time after time questioning what the button is supposed to do because the icons aren't that self explaining sometimes.
And I'm not really what's called a computer rookie at all. (Guess most of us aren't but usenet downloading is getting easier each day so...).
