when column display is in filename mode, sorting according to the filenames instead of the subject would be nice.

click on subject, sort column <-- sort by subject name
unfold the subject, click on a filename, sort column <-- sort by filename

I think he means in filename mode, sort on only the filename rather than the (hidden) full subject.
