The possibillity to (auto)unzip the dowloads
« on: November 04, 2008, 08:49:33 pm »
A very few times the posted files are zipped on usenet, so a auto unzip woud be nice.....  :) I hear you thinking about a auto donate function  ;D

I'd suggest taking it a step further and create a derivative NZB format with built-in compression.  Along with NZBs have alt.binz be able to create and use a zipped NZB file, maybe with an ABZ extension file (Alt.Binz Zip).

Doing a little testing 7-Zip is not only free and fast, it provides the best compression.  I shrunk a 15.7 MB Blu-ray NZB down to only 607 KB in less than 10 seconds and extraction was almost instantaneous.  Maybe include the ability for it to store other ASII based files like NFOs and SFVs too.

It would be a great time saver and even get alt.binz some more exposure.

far as i know alt.binz already imports ziped nzbfiles if they are saved in the autoimport-folder
