Unrar Location

Hi I know there is a topic about the unrar location and passwords already but my request is a little different.
I have set an unrar location to a a NAS.  If that NAS is switched off then the altbinz program will go into a freeze/unfreeze cycle.
I assume the program regularly looks for the network location of the unrar folder. I know it sounds silly to be using the program when the NAS is off but I have the NAS on a power schedule and I sometimes like to use the program for searching for example, without necessarily downloading.
I wonder if it would be possible to include some options in settings to disable the cycle somehow.
(If the unrar folder is unavailable the program unrars into the download folder anyway)

PS Works perfectly if the NAS is on.

Hm, I'm sure you have something in log whet it tries to unrar it. Could you post that.

I don't have a  problem unraring because If I download I make sure the NAS is on.
The freezing occurs when I switch the program on briefly just to do a 'quick' search without wanting to power up the NAS.
I have the NAS on a power schedule.
It will freeze for a period of time then unfreezes - this cycle repeats
The answer of course is to make sure the NAS is on or change the unrar location. The freezing only occurs if the unrar folder is set to a 'network' location that is unavailabe.  If it's set to a local folder that is unavailable, non-existant, deleted etc no problem no freeze.

You can recreate this by typing a non-existant network location into the settings eg \\NAS\somewhere

This is not a huge problem (and not common) and I can work around it of course.

Actually I can't recreate it with an invented network location
eg \\NAS\somewhere
Must be a local router, network issue......

temp folder and download folder is on the local computer?
I don't think altbinz is checking unrar folder at startup, but I have to look at source and confirm that.

Yes the temp, download in fact all folders are on the local machine except the network unrar folder.
Don't spend too much time on this.....Doesn't seem to be affecting anyone else and there are plenty of easy work arounds eg
Turn on the NAS.
Change the unrar folder location
etc

I think Alt Binz is a geat program!
