Hi RDL,
For me it would be great if alt.binz could switch to a backup or secondary server when the speed of a connection drops below a certain rate for a specified length of time. Then optionally select to attempt the next file using the primary server for the next NZB.
The reason I could use this is I have a free news account and a prepaid news account. Many NZB's I download are from a local site, this local site caches the files so initially the first person/people download at +-5kb/s. After a file is cached subsequent users downloads at full speed. However if it's not cached I want it to switch to my prepaid new server.
It may sound quite trivial but $25 for a pre-paid account is a fair amount of money in my country, at least for me it is. So I'm just trying to save a few bucks really. I live in a country where internet is extremely expensive so lots of people use this system. Our local and international internet accounts have greatly varying price. We pay approximately $4 per GB of international traffic and it's only 384kbps.
Just to add, thank you developing such a great program, so many updates (I work at a software company and we would never be able to release so often). I always recommend people to get it but mostly they'd rather use the free 0.28 or some useless NZB downloader. If only they knew.
I did search for requests for this, I hope it isn't a dupe. I spotted this post which is similar
