Title: x64 (64 bit) plus multi-core support
Post by: derfgnome on May 30, 2010, 07:56:05 pm
Apology if this has been already asked, but could not find it on the forum.

In particular for us who are blessed with high-speed internet and fast usenet access: true 64 bit and multi-core (2, 4 or even 6 cpu-cores) support. I know par2.exe is multi-core but on my Intel quadcore pc using v0.31.6 I only really see 2 cores active while downloading & decoding & par/unrarring a 40GB BD rip with 263KB sized parts at approx 100Mbit/s download. Total cpu load (all cores) is on average between 30% and 60%.

If the speed is there, and if one has the pc for it, it would be nice if the software can fully utilize it.  ;)

No Delphi 64-bit compiler = no 64-bit Alt.Binz.  This has been much discussed elsewhere in the forum.
